We made it back to WI from our TX trip. The first time we flew as a band to TX---we usually drive. Getting through security with a couple of accordions was fun! "Now do you actually play this?" was the most often asked question.
We did have the best airline attendant crew on the way back to WI---we were originally supposed to be seated in the back of the plane--and the world's friendliest, happiest flight attendant came back to say HI and ask who was all in the band. He was joking with us about how the bands that travel usually more »

Danny & I were in the studio yesterday---this is by far, the best recording we've recorded--hands down. It has the CBx mix of "POLKA-ROCK-BLUES/ZYDECO" on it.
A few things we've done differently this recording: We recorded it at Rock Garden Studios in Appleton, WI. (And not to mention, this is the first full CD that CBx recorded that we didn't record ourselves...which was nice for a change.) Not only did we not have to record it ourselves, we also did a little at a time, which has been good for us in a way that we could record things and then had time to let more »

Returned from our trip to Texas

We had an interesting trip back from TX. Obviously it is a long haul when you're driving through the night...all day...all night. As we were pulling into a gas station in Missouri, Danny thought he found a great spot to rest our eyes for a while in the corner of the front parking lot, next to some big poles.
When he stopped the van, I woke up and thought we should keep going, so I moved into the drivers seat and started to pick out some CDs for the next few hours. Just as I started to do that, Danny starts yelling, "quick back up!" more »

It's all in the box! Copper Box, that is. Take four talented people, a dozen different instruments, stir with a large dollop of enthusiasm, let them cook for a couple hours, and you have the makings of a happy, fun evening. It's difficult to describe. You had to be there!
This current foursome is made up of Danny Jerabek, who plays the button accordions, and doubles occasionally on guitar, keys, cornet, and vocals. His beautiful wife, Michelle, sings, plays flute, guitar, tenor and baritone saxes, and occasionally the stainless steel rubboard (washboard) for the Zydeco numbers. Kevin Junemann, mainly more »

We performed at our first show at a Packer Game on Sunday. Lots of green & gold, as well as navy blue & orange...I might add. But we somehow managed to bring the opposition together....There were Packer fans dancing the polka with Bear fans....something I never thought I'd see!
Hats off to our good friend, "Stumpfer!" Many of you have seen him with his stumpf fiddle jammin' to the tunes with Copper Box. He not only goes to his regular job (3rd shift) after the gigs, but he makes almost every Copper Box show, he helps us set up & tear down, and he helps with whatever else more »

Did you see The Northwestern newspaper (Sept. 13th, 2007)with Danny's photo and accordion stretched across the front page of the Entertainment section? Go to www.thenorthwestern.com for more info...or if you want to read the article on the Oshkosh music scene. I can't believe you can buy an 8X10 of his picture for $25!!!! ha ha!
We are gearing up for Octoberfest season...already performed at the Plymouth Oktoberfest...great time, but cold...until we had the tent jam-packed....which gave off a lot of polka-rockin' body heat! Just got back from TX, and we'll be going back in November. I don't care for cold weather much myself!

We had everything soundchecked and ready to "polka-rock" at last weeks' Waterfest concert series in Oshkosh, WI last Thursday. Fans were lined up at the gate, when the massive downpour came over us. It only lasted about 5 minutes and then the rain stopped...we had a great time performing for all you diehards that stood in line and tried to stand up against Mother Nature. We loved the banner that some groupies made...it read..."Play that Funky Accordion!"
Made some tracks up to Tomahawk, WI for Friday. Artstreet in Green Bay, WI on Saturday was a fun show as well---with no rain. The Guffs opened up more »
Summer road trips...this past week

As we are nearing the end of summer...we had a great time at the shows this week. In the mid-week, we (Danny & I) managed to celebrate our 10th anniversary on Wed. We played shows in Neenah, WI and had Tony Mata from Meridian Studios come out and record some video footage of the concert...we'll be sharing that with you once we get that edited.
Then we headed to the county fair....thanks to the "Cherry Bomb Girls!" We also managed to get a blurp on video from our drummer, Jason Van Ryzin...regarding his experience at the fair....we'll be posting that more »
